Placemats

I have been working on some crocheted place mats, and they look like they will be real pretty when they are done, but the pattern is wrong, and I'm still trying to work it out right.  It came out a little bit puckered, and I wanted it to lay flat.  It will be so easy to make, you just crochet some long strips, and some short strips, then when you have enough, you just weave them together and crochet all along the edges to keep it together, and add a little border. But, I don't want a pucker in there. I made the long strips about ten rows too long.  I need to start over....again.  I have a friend Paula, who used to cry when she had to rip out her crochet work and start over. I think about her a lot when I have to pull it out because it's not right. But there's no crying in crochet. Right?  I'll get it right this time.  LOL. When I get it finished I'll put up the pattern and some pics of it.
I also watched a You Tube Video about Tapestry Crochet, it looks so easy, but they usually do look easy when someone is doing it who knows how.  I want to try it, they're so many things to crochet and so  little time.

They sound pretty Chris, but I'm with you, I don't like pucker either. I tried making some quilted placemats once, I didn't cry, but more frustration than one body needs indeed!!! I hope they work out for you. Endeavor to persevere!!! Love judi
